My name is Marieke Laverman and I'm a Dutch artist.
I usually paint with oil or watercolour and was educated at the
Classical Academy of Arts in Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands.
​
Under the menu-button "Eigen werk" ("my own work") you can see the kind of paintings I make: mostly flower-related. Sometimes realistic, sometimes abstract. But always in motion. Stillives with a bit of movement, like plants who continue to grow, proliferate a little.
Two years ago I started making my paintings to connect to tapestry, and my watercolours to connect to gobelins. This meant painting and drawing (shading) in the same work. Fascinating and exciting to do and look at.
